Managing the Default User Account
ThevShieldManageruserinterfaceincludesonedefaultuseraccount,usernameadmin,whichhasrightsto
allresources.Youcannotedittherightsofordeletethisuser.Thedefaultpasswordforadminisdefault.

Add a User
Basicuseraccountcreationrequiresassigningtheuseraloginnameandpassword.
To create a new user account
1ClickSettings&ReportsfromthevShieldManagerinv entorypanel.
2ClicktheUserstab.
3ClickCreateUser.
TheNewUserscreenopens.
4TypeaUserName.
ThisisusedforlogintothevShieldManageruserinterface.Thisuser
nameandassociatedpassword
cannotbeusedtoaccessthevShieldApporvShieldManagerCLIs.
5 (Optional)Typetheuser’sFullNameforidentificationpurposes.
6 (Optional)TypeanEmailAddress.
7TypeaPasswordforlogin.
8Re‐typethepasswordintheRetypePasswordfield.
9ClickOK.

andresourceassignmentseparately.
Assign a Role and Rights to a User
Aftercreatingauseraccount,youcanassigntheuseraroleandrightstosystemresources.Theroledefines
theresource,andtherightdefinestheuser’saccesstothatresource.

3Double‐clicktheResourcecellfor
theuser.
4Fromthedrop‐downmenuthatopens,selectanavailableresource.
5Double‐clicktheAccessRightcellfortheuser.
