Upgrading Version 4.2.3
or 4.2.4, ZenUp in use

3. Install the RPS.
zenup install zenoss_resmgr-version-SPXXX.zup
Note
The zenup command works for a while and then prompts you to confirm the installation. It will not continue
without your response.
4. Check for local changes.
zenup diff --summarize
Typically, the result shows no differences, as in the following example.
Calculating diff...
0 files added
0 files deleted
0 files modified
0 files unknown
If there are differences, save them with the following command.
zenup diff > ~/my-post-upgrade-diffs.diff
5. Review the customizations that you saved at the beginning of the upgrade process. If they are still required and the
code works with the new version, apply the customizations. For example,
zenup patch ~/all_customizations.diff -m"restore patches post-upgrade"
6. Start Resource Manager.
zenoss start
8.5. Upgrading additional ZenPacks
1. Upgrade any ZenPacks developed by you, the Zenoss community, or Zenoss Professional Services. For more in-
formation about installing and updating ZenPacks, see Zenoss Service Dynamics Extended Monitoring.
Note
This step is critical. ZenPacks commonly include JavaScript-based additions or changes to the Resource
Manager browser interface, and incompatible JavaScript in outdated ZenPacks can disable the interface.
2. Delete browser caches, to avoid incompatibilities in the browser interface. For example, to clear the Firefox cache,
press Ctrl-Shift-R.
8.5.1. Migrating the MySqlMonitor ZenPack
This upgrade installs a major revision of the MySqlMonitor ZenPack, which collects data through a customized mod-
eler plugin. Existing devices get the plugin automatically, but the old monitoring template must be removed manually.
For more information, refer to Zenoss Service Dynamics Extended Monitoring.
8.6. Upgrading remote hubs
Perform these steps on each remote hub host to upgrade.
