ConsoleScreen(NetWare4.2and5.1guests).
4IfyouhaveaNetWare4.2guest,restarttheguestoperatingsystem,asfollows:
aToshutdownthesystem,inthesystemconsole,enter:
down
bTorestarttheguestoperatingsystem,inthesystemconsole,enter:
restart server
5MakesuretheVMwareToolsvirtualCD‐ROMimage(netware.iso)isnot
attachedtothevirtualmachine.
Ifitisattached,disconnectit.Right‐clicktheCD‐ROMiconinthestatusbarofthe
consolewindowandchooseDisconnect.

mode,amongotherfeatures.
Normally, vmware-userisstartedautomaticallyafteryouconfigureVMwareTools
andthenlogoutofthedesktopenvironmentandlogbackin.Yo
umuststartthe
vmware-userprocessmanuallyinthefollowingenvironments:
IfyourunanXsessionwithoutasessionmanager(forexample,byusingstartx
andgettingadesktopandnotusingxdm,kdm,orgdm)
IfyouareusingcertainolderversionsofGNOMEwithoutgdmorxdm
Ifyouareusinganysessionmanagerorenvironmentthatdoesnotsupportthe
DesktopApplicationAutostartSpecification,availablefrom
