Set a Recovery Key for Encrypted ACE Instances
YoucanspecifythekeytobeusedforaccesstoencryptedACEinstances.Thiskey
enablesyoutoresetthepasswordforadeployedACEinstance,activateanexpired
instance,andrunacopy‐protectedinstance.
To set a recovery key for encrypted ACE instances
1Ontheaccesscontrolpolicypage,clickRecoverykey.
2IntheRecoveryKeydialogbox,se
lectUserecoverykey.
3Dooneofthefollowing:
TouseanexistingPEM‐formatkeypair,clickBrowseforExistingKeyand
navigatetothepublickeyofthepairtouse.
TocreateaPEM‐formatkeypair,clickCreateNewRecoveryKeyand
completethedialogboxthatappears.
4ClickOKtogeneratethekeys.
Afterseveralseconds,thenewlygeneratedpublickeyislistedinthefieldonthe
RecoveryKeytab.Thetwopartsofthekeyare storedinthelo
cationyoui
ndicated,
withthenamesyouspecifiedfollowedbytheextensions.pubforthepublickey
and.privfortheprivatekey.
5Recordtheprivatekeypasswordandlocationoftheprivatekeyfilesothatyoucan
supplyitifyouneedtoresetapassword.
Set Activation Limit
TheactivationlimitisthemaximumnumberofACEinstancesthatcanbeactivated
fromthespecifiedACE‐enabledvirtualmachine.Thisoptionisavailableifyouuse
ACEManagementServer.
To set an activation limit
1Ontheaccesscontrolpolicypage,underActivationlimit,inTotalnumberof
activations,choosehowmanyinstancescanbeact
ivatedfromthisACE‐
enabled
virtualmachine.
Youcanusethedrop‐downmenuortypeinanumber.
2 SelectAllowmultipleactivationperusertoallowusersmultipleactivationofthe
ACE‐enabledvirtualmachine.
ThisoptionisavailableforanACEinstancemanagedbyACEManagementServer
withActiveDirect
ory.
