Exclude a Virtual Disk from Snapshots
Incertainconfigurations,youmightwanttorevertsomediskstoasnapshotwhile
otherdisksretainallchanges.Forexample,youmightwantasnapshottopreservea
diskwithyouroperatingsystemandapplications,whilealwayskeepingthechanges
toadiskwithyourdocuments.
Youcanexcludevirtualdi
sksfromasnapshotbychangingthediskmode.Beforeyou
begin,poweroffthevirtualmachineanddeleteanyexistingsnapshots.
To exclude a virtual disk from snapshots
1 Selectthevirtualmachine.
2 ChooseVM>Settings.
3OntheHardwaretab,selectthedrivetoexcludeandclickAdvanced.

Persistent–Disksinpersistentmodebehave likeconventionaldisksona
physicalcomputer.Alldatawrittentoadiskinpersistentmodeiswritten
permanentlytothedisk.
Nonpersistent–Changestodisksinnonpersistentmodearediscardedwhen
youpowerofforresetthevirtualmachine.Nonpersistentmodeenablesyou
torestartthevirtualmachinewithavirtualdiskinthesamestateeverytime.
Changestothediskarewrittentoandreadfromaredologf
ilethatisdeleted
whenyoupowerofforreset.
