Overriding the ALS Library Version Requirement
IfyourhostsystemdoesnotmeetALSArequirementsorfor someotherreasoncann

useALSA,WorkstationusestheOSSAPIforsoundplaybackandrecording.
Dependingonthesoundcardinthehostcomputer,thesoundqualitymightnotbeas
goodwithanolderversionoftheALSAlibrary.VMwarerecommendsthatyou
upgradethehostsystemtousenewersounddriversandli
braries.
IfthehostsystemhasanolderversionoftheALSAlibrary,youcanoverridethe
requirementforversion1.0.16.
To override the ALSA library version requirement
1Openthe.vmxvirtualmachineconfigurationfilewithatexteditor.
