Runtime Preferences Settings
Usethefollowinginformationtodecidewhichfeaturestoenable:
Alwaysruninfullscreen–VMwarePlayerfillsthefullscreenwhenitstarts,
hidingthehostoperatingsystem.Youmightfindthisuseful,forexample,toavoid
confusionaboutthedifferencesbetweenthehostsystemenvironmentandthatof
theACEinstance.
Userscanreturntothehostoperatingsystembyc
lickingtheminimizebuttonon
thetoolbar.Ifthemousepointerisnotavailable,pressingCtrl+Altminimizesthe
display.
Alwayshidethefullscreentoolbar–Enduserscannotdisplaythetoolbarthat
usuallyappearsatthetopofthescreenwheninfullscreenmode.
Alwaysruninapplianceview–TheACEinstanceopensinapplianceviewand
theusercannotchangetoconsoleview.
Tousethissetting,youmustalsoenableapplianceviewforthevirtualmachine.

Allowuserstomodifythememoryallocation–TheChangeMemoryAllocation
commandappearsintheVMmenuofVMwarePlayer.
Reducevirtualmachinememorysizeifneededwhenpoweringon–Thevirtual
machinepowersoneveniftheamountofavailablememoryislessthantheamount
configuredforthevirtualmachine.Ifyoudonotusethisfeatureandtherequired
amountofmemoryisnotavailable,usersneedtomo
difythememo
ryallocationto
poweronthevirtualmachine.
